Wishing The Stories Were Simple: Collaboration With Zayra Yves

Missing image

Not that anyone
is expecting a miracle
or even transformation,
but you can't blame them
for wanting to explain
one more time.

Transcending grief
muted by love
is never defined
fully enough
to understand
the depths of quietude

Or for wishing
the stories were simple
between the layers of almost
and might have been;
between secular love
and air blowing
through trees.

Branches stirred
by nearly~sacred whispers
fall into sullen silence,
the brevity of a single sigh breaching
the horizon's shattered gasp.

It is tempting to imagine
the best of it,
when we know
clouds are not eternal
and nothing important is said
until someone has
let go.

Only infinity lasts forever ~
the darkest cruelty
I ever heard whispered
was the rustling of your fingers
slipping subtly
from my hand.

Very good collab here. This seemed like something you might hear in a dream and then wake up to think "What was that?" You know the kind of thing that reads so well, it's floating in front of you in a dreamy-like state. Well done!

Wow! Wonderful, you two!! A poetic duet by two of my favourite people here on AP. This is simply stunning - your voices melt together so beautifully - indeed one flawless voice of mastery! I would have to come back to this one to truly appreciate its impact and beauty. Amazing - I love it when two poets combine their individual talents and make one masterpiece. Beautiful work...soft-spoken whispers of the heart.

Absolutely flawless. The voices are blended so well that it rings more clearly and more loudly than one pure voice can make it do.

That final stanzs...whew.........as you know..it carries a punch...

A very wonderful collab by two very wonderful poets..
I wish for simple stories, as all solution begin there.
They get complicated when we pass responsibility on
so I sigh and see what I can do, and then begin again.

Stories can still be simple. Some are not but they are all worth being told. :no one expects a miracle". Doesn't mean it can't happen.

Done, Z. ~ I also added which stanzas we each did to the comments. I preferred it that way, too. During a collab contest, I set the stanzas off in that manner & was asked not to, to not upset the flow. Thank you, dear Lady.
