Harvests of the Heart (lengthy)

Missing image

Beckon me Home
towards a new horizon ~

a brighter sunrise,
a warmer sunset
to soothe my ravaged Soul.

I have danced upon the water,
a feather given flight by a gentle wind,
an exciting breeze that bodes well
within my dreaming eyes.

Time has touched my Life with careworn hands ~
Hope has healed a Heart that helped
by standing strong.

Inspiration strikes ~
a bolt of fire beneath my skin ~
bones rattle with Beauty;
I am breathless & yearning for the Dream.

Where are you now, my Love?
Do you wander where I roam?
I am Light in the Darkness ~
I am Shadow in the Sun ~
I dance to the music of Life ~
I dream, I laugh, I love.

Heart aching widely,
I open my Self to Love's seductive charms ~
I accept the risks & hope for luck ~
praying for Deliverance
from the silence in the Soul
that comes with seclusion & its deceit.

I know the chances I take (not without Fear)
with this stance of supposed strength,
this posture towards presumed Passion ~
this Life pulsing in my blood is warm & pure,
glorious flames whispering,
slow~dancing in this smoldering night.

You drift across my sleep~filled eyes
like sunlight filtered through closed shutters ~
warm light wrapped in filaments of lace.
You wrap your Love around me,
a blanket to soothe on this cold Winter's night ~
I sink into you with dreams of fire that does not burn.

You touch me;
I am a flower blooming in the Summer sun ~
the scent is lovely; the colors, bright.

You sing to me & suddenly,
I am raindrops falling gently,
crystal Spring, liquid Beauty inspired to grow.

You kiss me
as the Autumn leaves dance around us,
circling tightly in the changing Wind ~
this Harvest is bountiful.

I'll light a candle,
although we won't need it ~
we could find each other
in the deepest Darkness.

Please let me in; I promise I won't hurt you ~
I don't know how to make you weep ~
I'll comfort you with a blanket of Hope
& Faith will be a pillow for your weary head.
If you would only trust this Passion ~
& follow the Path where it may lead,
you'd know how good Life could be,
given Time to breathe.

There is comfort on a glowing hearth
as it shines in loving eyes ~
embers glitter & spark as we long for Truth~

the sound of leaves scurrying in the lane
to escape the wrath of Winter's icy grip,
lost in each other's every breath...

a universe with a ring of thought !

I do thank the heavens of my days and night for finding you - your writing . You inspire me , you touch me , you open my soul , you wake my imagination , you enchant my soul , you overwhelm me , you teach me the creative force of words , you open my eyes to the light , to the passion , to the beauty , to the unspoken , to the unknown language of the heart , expressed in the ink of writing .

Wow , i couldn't stop myself , my heart was pounding , my mind was widening , in the full force of words . This writing has such an untouched tenderness , opening a universe solely on it's own .

I can't say more , because i always can't say more than your writing itself says ; i think this poem by Naoshi Koriyama says it all :

    A Loaf of Poetry
    ~ by Naoshi Koriyama

    you mix
    the dough
    of experience
    with
    the yeast
    of inspiration
    and knead it well
    with love
    and pound it
    with all your might
    and then
    leave it
    until
    it puffs out big
    with its own inner force
    and then
    knead it again
    and
    shape it
    into a round form
    and bake it
    in the oven
    of your heart

    There is such comfort
    in finding you here
    in every endeavor
    the smile of memory
    hastens the shadow of sorrow
    to scatter
    as every feather
is blown to a different desert
    searching
    without eyes
    to shifting storm sending
to void the will with reason
    looking for your footsteps.

    Wanda,
you have given a great and loving write. The third stanza, was very metaphorical and full of such meaning, sort of sets the tone for the rest of the poem, and then stanza twelve is almost the perfect word picture to dictate the scene and what the narrator feels. Bravo.

This is so beautiful and pleading. A poem penned from your heart and soul. It soumds like you been to the depths of hell and back.
This stanza was my favortire because I believed it was the heart of the poem: "Where are you now, my Love?
Do you wander where I roam?
I am Light in the Darkness ~
I am Shadow in the Sun ~
I dance to the music of Life ~
    I dream, I laugh, I love. "

I cannot pick the part i like best, it leaves me breathless that words alone can convey so much when linked together with a loving care. Thank you from the depths of my soul, you do not know how your poem has made me feel, I hardly know, but it's somewhere in the realms of ease and comfort. Once more, I thank you. If it's not too much to ask, could you critique some of my works since you seem so profound in the art?

Wanda you leave me is seven shades of sultry sigh...I don't know if that even makes sense. I could quote almost this entire piece as a favorite part. I love the unique words you pen within and the fact that it had some length. It is always lovely to see you inspired...thanks for the entry and best of luck...Trina
