Flying overhead,
Colorful and bright
as the morning sun.
She soars through the sky,
Like a fish,
cutting though an icy stream.
Swooping and dipping,
Sinking, twirling,
spinning, diving.
Blinding light is broken,
With the silhouette
of her amazing grace.
Every scale a gleaming treasure,
Every spike a sharpened sword
slicing the thick wall of air.
Deep reds and purples,
Yellows and oranges,
shine with growing pride.
The day her life ends,
Will bring sorrow to all,
young and old.
The magnificent beauty
of a beast such as this,
a creature of eternity itself...
Father time,
Mother earth,
Daughter dragon.
Author notes
Dragons - I think - are the most beautiful creatures on the face of this earth.
Wouldn't you agree?

Hey! well, I probably wouldn't say that they are THE most beautiful, but I'm sure that if they existed, they'd be overwhelmingly beautiful. I really enjoyed this poem, I thought it was very creative. Great idea, "daughter dragon"! Good luck in the contest and thanks for entering.
