Limitless of the ages

Limitless of the ages
the beginning far from sight
the end advancing far too quickly
draining all my might.

Knowledge long forgotten
their makers are no more,
Their race has been forsaken,
their bodies on the floor.

A people ever fated,
to walk upon the ground
dreamers willing to take flight
below the cliffs are found.

And so my heart stopped beating,
and my lost my step its springs.
I find too much in common,
with a race that no longer sings.

A scream escapes my lips,
a rending in my heart,
for lost to me is love,
and all feelings depart.

Numbness and pain,
intermixed to one,
a pain so searing bright,
to even blot out the sun.
