My Knight in Shining Armor has no Horse

All the little girls dream of a knight in shining armor
Who is tall and handsome and quite the charmer
With a beautiful white horse and a big heart
What if my knight doesn't quite fit the part?
He isn't exactly tall, nor really the ladies man
Doesn't have a car, isn't even tan
But he's still the one I'd like to see
When I turn to see who's calling me
We're both a little bit silly, and more than a bit strange
But there's no problem, so no need to change
Who says that we all have to have fairy tale ends?
Who says it's the girl the knight must defend?
Can't we just help each other along?
Whistle our own little tuneless songs?
I say that we dispose of the knight forthwith
And leave them to their ancient myths
Instead, we should look for an everyday guy
One who cares enough to really try
One who remembers what you say
One who knows enough to brighten your day
'Cause hey, we can't all be fairy tale perfect all the time
A little realism has never been a crime
So take a step back and let in some reality
Allow for a healthy change in mentality
