Initiation

Don't look back...
Never look back...

The past is done, set in stone
The future veiled in mist...
The rose is wilting within the glass,
raging are the thoughts we hide, afriad to ask.
Afriad to ask...

Answer the questions that have no answer.
Is this the calm before the storm?
Face the thing you fear the most...
Is this my Initation Ceremony into the world?

Don't look back...
Never look back...

A blood red moon against the blackest night as all the stars go dim...
The rose is wilting within the glass,
raging are the thoughts we hide, afriad to ask, the memories we can never look past...

Don't look back...
Never look back...

Kill what's inside
It's easier to fly then fall.
Screaming to be noticed, you wait in the dark,
for Time to open another gate... but...

Is it veild in mist or set, set in cold stone?

Author notes

When I read this to my mother, she thought it was supposed to be a song.

This poem was written on December 8th, 2004.

So, do you guys think this is supposed to be a song, like my mom?

Hmm your mother and I think alike. This would be an amazing song. You illustrated this poem so well with your desciptions.

"A blood red moon against the blackest night as all the stars go dim..." Absolutely amazing!
