I didn’t forget my jacket
and I refuse to borrow yours
the truth is, you need it more.
I have sat awake at night
with no one but snowflakes to entertain
they have told me their secrets.
I didn’t forget my jacket,
I don’t need one.
But you are summer-brain-washed
and jackets are a necessary precaution.
So keep the jacket
and leave the cold to me.
Author notes
It kind of goes with my poem, Jacket.

At home with it
I pray you have read my recent coments. The winter collection ones and the one about entering the contest. It would appear to me that you and I have at least a chance to express these ideas about the 'emotions' of winter. I am not lost on this piece and the Jack Frost one. You are making it difficult to respond if you are going to answer in double quick responses. Love this, lets keep the jacket thingy going. RC
