I felt it before I saw it,
the tiny flake that burned upon my cheek
I watched them from my window,
myriad white that woke me from my sleep
I went outside to languish there,
and I did not wear my coat
While I turned my face to view them,
and caught snowflakes down my throat.
The evergreens were covered
in a frosty powdered glaze
They reminded me of childhood
and those fond-remembered winter days.

Thanks for sharing your wintry thoughts with us and best wishes in the contest! Happy Holidays,

I have studied you last furious pieces as they seem to be coming at will. This one made me cry and I know that sounds silly. Its just that you do not usually go this direction and it, at least to me seemed really to be going in a new and wonderful way. I on the other hand must confess that my response to these recent writes of yours si a little more sullen. Couldn't the wonder like you did in this one. My is called, "Bark Butcher". And as always is to you. RC

Thank you Dear Robin.
I am touched that you had such a reaction. You will see different sides of me more often, I hope. It comes and goes with me. I still try hard to retain some childish hope, to keep me sane and not so jaded.
I will be over to see your piece in a moment.

Wonderfully imagery. It brought me back to my childhood in NJ. I remember how a Winter snow could wake me up. It made no noise but I too "felt it before I saw it". It had to be a spiritual thing.
Very lovely write.
