Our Little Creatures and the Child
3/9/04
The morning sun was rising towards the cloudy sky
dew was glistening on the trees overhead
I laid back in my easy chair and peacefully drifted away
A butterfly fluttered on my hand
shinning brightly purple, pink and red
A grasshopper hopped on my knee tickling me so it did
with its glorious shade of green
and its little head with bold black eyes
peaking up at me
I felt a grand connection with the little one
A lady beetle fluttered in and landed on my nose
Slick little curve shade of red
With black dots everywhere
Me seeing black spots everywhere because it came so near
A worm wiggled on my finger
A brown sliming long skinny thing was he
Up my arm he travelled on
And I didn’t feel a thing
A snail as slimy as he can be, climbed
on my toe and slowly travelled up my leg
Leaving the sun to shine upon the trail
as a rainbow path did flow upon my leg
A spider played with my hair
thinking he could make a web
Perhaps things are getting hard for even these little things
I was starting to feel like a Christmas Tree
As a christmas bettle flew down on my head
with all of Mother Natures friends everywhere
I feel more like a peaceful kid again
A bird spotted the worm wiggling freely up my arm
“Oh what a feast” he thought it would be
as he flew down on my peace
as he flew down and pecked my neck
I awoke to know it was just a dream
As things don't happen like this no more
As human’s use dam chemicals on everything
So what chance does our little creatures have..
As chemicals, bombs and science are effecting
Us Humans as well
Things are so different to when I was a child
Insects were my dearest friends when I was a kid
But alas I search my garden now if I see a insect
I’m elated as they are few and fewer between the leaves these days
When I see a little butterfly flutter by
I thank God straight away for the Gift he sends
As alas humans don’t think kindly to our little friends
As little creatures aren’t as special to humans
when you are no longer a kid
Child and the Modern World

Cute
This was a pleasure to read. I love that you touched on life, love, nature and God. A cute pen of life as we know it. Lovely.
