I lay here in my crimson bed,
These walls they are so dark,
I think about the things you did,
And how they left their mark.
I think about the fights we had,
I think about the last,
I hear all the screaming, yelling,
But now it’s all in my past.
You looked at me,
In my crimson bed,
You took my hand,
You tried to see my soul.
You saw the black heart drift beneath,
You saw the scars you left.
You saw the sorrows, heartbreak, angst,
Then you saw the one you fell in love with.
You watched her dance and fall to the ground,
You watched yourself pick her up,
You saw through her eyes,
You saw you with another girl,
You saw you laugh and joke,
And you saw your face in hers.
You saw her write a note so long,
So long it used up every word,
You saw the tear splash on the page,
And smudge the final word.
You still had her by her hand,
You still looked her in the eye,
You saw the girl that you loved,
You saw that beautiful girl die.
In the trash can you see a notebook open wide,
You pick it up, and learned why she died.
The book was filled with tears so dry,
With stains that were so red
The book was filled with love and hatred.
You see the words scrawled over the pages,
So poetic and from the heart,
You read her life,
From end to start.
You learned things about yourself,
She taught you in her death,
She was always there for you,
She was the best.
She taught you how to be yourself,
On that cold and lonely night,
She taught you how to live and love,
And for that you owe her your life.
The drawer is open,
You look inside,
You see an envelope and a blood stained knife.
You take the knife and unseal the envelope,
You read the note inside,
It is the note of every word,
The letter of a thousand goodbyes.
The last word smudged,
By a mix of gold and red,
Her beauty in her tear,
Her soul in her blood bled.
You lay beside her in the crimson bed,
You feel her love so soft,
What better way to waste your life,
Than on a love so lost.
The blade is shiny, enticing so,
So delicate, your loved ones foe,
You see yourself in the mirror,
And kiss her one last time.
Now you will be together forever,
Until the end of time…

Very nice...
... written nicely for the words you've chosen and the meaning behind the poem. I must say that I find that because of the way you wrote your poem where some of it rhymes some of it doesn't. Long lines short lines, it chops your poem up quit a bit though. However the meaning behind your poem is very nice though. Thanks for entering and the best of luck to you.

hm.. actually on reading this now, I think I am going to take some time to go over it and fix it up. I wrote it over a year ago, and I've learnt alot since then.
Thankyou for the comment.
