House of Leaves

I am one of the little piggies
But which one shall I be?
I知 hiding from the big bad wolf
But the big bad wolf is me

If I build my house with bricks I may get trapped inside
And then the wolf will get me and I値l have nowhere to hide
He値l chase me around the living room, and I値l bang on the door
And then he値l rip the meat off me, leaving me bleeding on the floor

If I build my house with twigs they値l snap and break in two
And then not only will the wolf get me, I値l be on show to you
He値l rip and tear and slaughter me, and you値l turn your head in fear
At seeing one of the little piggies being ripped apart so near

If I build my house of straw the wolf will blow it down
He値l chase me across a river and I値l either be eaten or drown
And then he値l catch me downstream and stew me in a pot
Or else lose me in the current and leave me there to rot

If I build my house of leaves and he takes a deep breath
I know that his sudden winds will not cause my death
You see the leaves they flutter and confuse my greatest fear
And suddenly the wolf is scared, and then he痴 no longer here
You see, though the leaves are smallest, they also hold the key
Because they move the way my thoughts do, and so can protect me

    Interesting!

Thought provoking... Simply magical... I loved the truth of the story... Well written, and compelling ending...

Wow, this was a very unique poem. You came up with a very good way to express your feelings and your thoughts. I am really glad that you decided to share this in my group. You have real talent at writing. I am glad that I got to read one of your poems and I hope it will not be the last one.
    Congrats on a great poem.

Interestingly different, but I did enjoy reading it. A new twist on a classic childrens story. You've done well with this new spin.
