Religion

Drown me in epiphanies
And call me a liar,
I’ll have none of your
Dogmatic brimstone and fire,
I’m a creature of science,
Faith cannot substitute proof,
For me, research and merit
Unveil mankind’s truth.

Organized ‘Religion’ is too rigid,
Of this I am (personally) sure,
Its ways of intolerance
Are mangled, and impure.
I’m more a free thinker,
Quietly  ‘Spiritual,’
I live in simple harmony,
‘Live and let live’ habitual.

Author notes

A quick little quip that popped into my mind after a casual religious discussion between a co-worker and I.

I like this, although I consider myself a child of God. I do see where your going with this. "Quietly 'spiritual,' I live in simple harmony, 'live and let live' habitual. I think thats all we are expected to do, live in harmony. A good write. Kelly
