Mint chocolate wafers,
encased in cookie dough.
Best right out of the oven,
soft, warm and melted don't ya know
Grandma would bake them for us,
a Christmas time special treat.
While icing sugar cookies,
we couldn't help but eat.
Grandpa taught us how to eat them,
before they were put away.
"Oops, broke another!"
chomping away he would say.
They are called by this name,
of Starlight Mint Surprise.
Always the first to be gone,
seeing them put a sparkle in my eyes.
Starlight Mint Surprise,
are my favorite cookie.
When eating them HOT!
Burn yourself and be the cookie rookie!

Thank you Pixie. Glad that you enjoyed my cookie treat. So much we learn from our grandparents and parents that we seem to appreciate much later on in life.

Hehehe, Dawn that was the attempt, thanks for the great comment. If we ever find the wafers again will surely send some. Though you will have to have your own milk.

Thanks Jeannie! They are very tasty and we are actually having trouble finding the mint wafers anymore so we had to go without this year. So sad. Had to make do with my second favorite Molasses cookies.
