Where the light hits the coral,
In a way that is magical,
Lived a beautiful young girl in the sea.
She was the daughter of the king,
In this land of the sea,
And had everything she desired.
The king was a wise man,
Filled with knowledge and power,
And set the young lady on a task.
"Go to the surface and retrieve this thing,
This essential thing for the sea."
So she did as she was commanded,
But something went wrong
And some humans saw her fins.
The king found out,
That she fled from her task,
And he punished her for her wrong doings.
Her tail vanished,
And two feet she had,
And she couldn't breathe in the sea.
"No, I beg of you!"
She said to her father,
But he did not listen to her pleas.
The next thing she knew,
She was on the land,
Instead of the land of the sea.
"Oh King, please let me back!"
She pleaded to him,
But nothing to help her would happen.
So now she is stuck,
On land she is stuck,
And she desires to be in the sea.
Where the light hit the coral,
Is now a place of darkness,
In the glorious land of the sea.
