There once was a girlie named Mary
Who was just a trifle contrary.
When asked would she wed him,
She said best to bed him;
Our contrary Mary was merry.

Quite an unexpected and very humorous feminist reversal! It brings to mind another nursery rhyme that is begging for the same---Georgie Porgie (pudd'nin' and pie).
I enjoyed this piece. Thanks so much for entering my contest!

Wow... Ah I don't really know what to write. I liked it a lot and it sounded like it would be a really effective spoken piece until the last line, which while the meaning is plain it means that you can no longer speak it... Grat writing though.

I liked this limerick very much. The rhyme and meter were consistent and the syllable count was correct. Thank you for your entry. Peace, Liz
