Los Angeles ?

For a city to be named after angels, or to hope that the people there-in,

Are as wholesome and friendly as the hosts from above, and truly unbridled with sin,

Is to dream of utopia, made here on earth, by man in their own unique way,

What a blessing the men that first gave of the name, aren't alive to see it today!

It may well have been the hills rolling on high,the swell of the sea bye the shore,

That gave to the dream that this was a place, visited by angels before.

How wrong are they now this vast city cash cow, where moneys the lord of all,

The pimps and the whores the guns in the drawers, politicians readily fall.

Or was it the hope all abandoned each day, as stench of fear grew stronger,

That made them at last realize of the truth they couldn't hold out any longer.

For IT IS a city of Angels, mostly culled from the flesh of the dead,

From those who could ill afford it they gave of their lives instead.

They would help of the sick and the hungry give comfort,salvation to poor,

Never asking for payment in kind, just a wish they would come through the door.

Working without rest in the city of sin from dusk to rising sun,

When a child, put to test, without bullet proof vest, saved by the work of the nun.

It is still the city of angels though they don't see themselves that way,

They give thanks to the lord for their blessings; hope for another day.
