What can I do but let her be?
She’s stronger than I am anyway
She fought for her life and earned it more
Than anyone else upon this world
Her eyes so hidden behind a mask
She cannot see the great future she has
She looks to the past at a battle she’s already won
Haunted by demons there she doesn’t see
They hold no sway because she’s free
A shield of grace she keeps over us all
Banishing our fear and all it spawns
But she has her own and we can’t help
Our warrior angel whose shield defends us
Locks her away beyond our calls
Isolated away from us
She is tempted by darker thoughts
But she will triumph
She has done once and will again
Her steel clad soul cannot be bested
No matter how those demons test it
All through the night
We all can see the stars so bright
Celestial tears turned to frost
As the seraphim weep for the sister they’ve lost
I want to rise above like her
Stand and fight alongside her
Her barrier protects but is her nemesis too
I try my best but can’t get through
We will never forsake her
We can never forget her
Filled with love but also pain
I struggle against her shield turned cage
If I scream at the sky can she hear me?
If I look at the moon can she see me?
So near to us and yet so far
It is tragic that she doesn’t know
Our earthbound angel, how precious you really are
