“The Cross Part 1”
Romans 6: 1-5
What shall we say then? (This is meant to direct attention to Rom. 5:20) Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? (Just because Grace is greater than sin doesn't mean that the Deliver has a license to sin.)
God forbid (presents Paul's answer to the question, “Away with the thought, let not such a thing occur”). How shall we, who are dead to sin (dead to the sin nature), live any longer therein? (This portrays what the Believer is now in Christ.)
Know you not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ (plainly says that this Baptism is into Christ and not water {1 Cor. 1:17; 12:13: Gal.3:27, Eph. 4:5; Col. 2:11-13}) were baptized into His Death? (When Christ died on the Cross, in the Mind of God, we died with Him; in other words, He became our Substitute, and our identification with Him in His Death gives us all the benefits for which He died; the idea is that He did it all for us!)
Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death (not only did we die with Him, but we were buried with Him as well, which means that all the sin and transgression of the past were buried; when they put Him in the Tomb, they put all of our sins into that Tomb as well): that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the Glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (we died with Him, we were buried with Him, and His Resurrection was our Resurrection to a “Newness of Life”).
For if we have been planted together (with Christ) in the likeness of His death (Paul proclaims the Cross as the instrument through which all Blessings come; consequently, the Cross must ever be the Object of our Faith, which gives the Holy Spirit Latitude to work within our lives), we shall be also in the likeness of His Resurrection (we can have the “likeness of His Resurrection”, i.e., “Live this Resurrection Life”, only as long as we understand the “likeness of His death,” which refers to the Cross as the means by which all of this is done):
Within this Sermon I am going to try to show you the truth of what God is trying to tell us all as Christians. Most of the time we fall into false beliefs, false doctrines and so on and so forth. We wonder to ourself, Why do I keep failing? Well the answer is very simple really, We fail, because our faith is in the wrong place. Most people believe once they have come to the Cross of Christ, that is all they need for salvation. They tend to then stray from their first love and try to work things out through self will, self power, self works. But it plainly tells us that “in the likeness of His Death” (He has made all things possible through Him.) There is no other way. We must believe and understand that every problem in our life is and has been handled at the Cross, through the Death of Jesus Christ.
We can not make ourselves better. We can not fix our sin. We can not heal our own body. We in ourselves can not stop sinning. Jesus died on the Cross of Sin, Yes. But this is not the totality of it all. Jesus Christ died and conquered every problem we face in life today. He wore the Crown of Thorns so we could have victory over our mind, Keep the enemy from devouring us. By wearing the Crown of thorns Jesus gave us victory over the our minds. He has conquered Satan and he no longer has the power to oppress us mentally, physically, spiritually or financially. Jesus Has given us the greatest gift of all, Victory over Death, Hell and the Grave.
Once we understand the Cross and what it really means, then we will see faith in the right light. We will began to walk down the right road, and speak the right way, we will even learn how to pray in the right manner. Our problems will not disappear over night, but they will be fixed in God's time, according to our faith. The scriptures above says it all. If we are Baptized into His death, Buried with Him, and Resurrected with him into a new life, we become new creatures in Christ Jesus. We must realize that we can do nothing without Christ Jesus and the Finished works of the Cross. This is what the bible speaks of in complete totality. The Old Testament and the New Testament are both messages of the Cross of Christ. I will later on start to break down each story of the bible so you can see what I am trying to say. What God is trying to say to us as Children of God. We must hear His truth before we can be set free. I do hope you will join me, through out these messages and let us learn what TRUE FAITH is.
You all are in my prayers and I pray that God will bless you in every part of your lives. Thank you for joining me on this short sermon. I will pick up later with Part 2 of “The Cross” with Romans 6: 6-10. I will continue to place Romans Chapter 6 up until I have completed this chapter. I want you to understand the message of “The Cross” before we go any further in My Messages from God.

Amen! Far too often we think that it is OK to sin because we are redeemed. Until we understand that Our Heavenly Father hates sin so much and loves us so much that Jesus suffered the ravages of the cross for us. We do sin when we take our eyes off Him. Just like Peter when he walked on the water with Jesus, when he looked at the storm and took his eyes off the Savior he sank. We must never think we can control our fate, it only leads to disaster. Loved the sermon thanks for sharing.
