My Painting

You said I paint you flawless
And it makes you insecure,
But I can tell you without any hesitation
That I mean it as always.
My foot already left the cliff's edge...
Our speech is imperfect,
But your imperfections are cut to shine--
They reflect the best in you.
I wish I could make you see
your glamour I brag about,
But it's so hard to do with this piece of
Glass
In front of us.
If I could, I'd swallow every shard that separates us.
Life is full of so many questions;
That's why I channel them.
I can't hesitate when I tell you
I love you.
You once said I was the moment you
Didn't rhyme.
You're the only thing that gives any flavor
To my accent anymore.
It's more than I can understand;
Nothing is sufficient.
Try hard to relate for me.
Can't you see?
I never painted you flawless...
I just painted us beautiful.

Author notes

Just an old prewrite, but... I really don't know why I never shared it. Maybe I did and I just don't remember. But here it is. Some edits, but not many.

Tell me something I didn't already know.
