what i admire in your poetry is your knowledge of the world - you bring items into your poetry that carry with them a flavour, odour or texture from another time. i can see two crushed images - the historical one - Hessian and the world's principle - yin. i can see some vibes destroyed and some captured - imprisoned. on the other hand, the idea of unfinished business still offers a hope for the remaining vibes to be set free.

thank you hun... I think you have an astute eye and a keenness that is inspiring..

thank you again, for such a wonderful comment ...
  • I really like this one muchly. What do I know, for me, it's simple, straight, fresh and new. I find myself thinking 'abstract' too.
Yes, you've captured the essence of something which I'm very familiar with. Reminds me of working with my friend Richard in his London studio, smacks memories back in fact, nice ones. Good lick!

Hi Gil Due to the large number of entries, I won't be commenting on each piece but will certainly be reading and rereading them all. I wanted to thank you for your entry here, I hope to have the contest judged fairly soon...

Nothing here but things and all the "vibes" they create just being things ...

Definitely a good job with the prompt, Nursey.

    I love this....Gill...very beautiful...

  • you can't ever finish a painting
unless you paint it black or white
    you should not want that
    you'd drown yourself in it
    choke while you kill it

My wife, these days, always has half finished paintings here and there in the house. She's always very abiguous about their progress the finished products. I love them just as much finished as "half painted".

  • Do you know, don't know how you managed this, but I could smell the linseed oil and the hessian here. Just thought, this is brief, but then realised it was the imagist contest. Yay you nailed it bang to rights here missis

I can only echo the praises of "simply beautiful and stunning" already expressed here, Gilly.

This is excellent - yep, you are GOOD!!! And reading this poem I wonder why you don't write more short poems???

Very tactile, sensuous, vivid & alluring, my Friend. Good luck in Al's contest, Sweetie. I don't envy the task that lies ahead for him in judging. Wanda
