Robbie Jones

te iubesc
and clementines
juice kisses
on my doorstep
when we were
11

robbie jones
do you still love me?
we made our
Lego house together
where my dolls and your
dolls acted out the life
i didn't know i wanted
until just now

robbie jones
i wish i had married
you in the 5th grade
when we didn't have any teeth
and we'd be together
until we didn't have any teeth
and i could have been happy
starting just then because
life doesn't begin until
you fall in love properly

i remember july and
stealing salty kisses
as we sat hand in hand
in my family's backyard
and it wasn't so hard to
be in love then
and i think i would
like to be in love
again

where are you now
robbie jones?

That's the kind of poem I want to write!

First, the Romanian line really caught my attention. Hehe, I still feel a bit nation-wise lonely on AP But I see you're from/in the US...

I love the use of someone's full name. Used well, these are charming to me because they sound so personal and specific and you can still make poetry that everyone will enjoy with them.

Love the easy-going narrative nature of this poem... the details... That's one big part of poetry with me. And it's just so damn real (excuse the word "so" )

This has to be some of the more readable poetry I have commented on lately Kat... mind you, I don't often read other poets' poetry here... nor do I often read my own poetry, either.

You're not bad at all you know.

A nice poem. It captures the essence of childhood fancy in a unique way. Oh, by the way, Robbie Jones is now a transgender bi-polar exotic dancer in a dive bar strip club in Downtown Las Vegas.

    until exhale,
    Grimoire

I really like this. Particularly the second verse. I love how I feel after reading that.

Yay for Kat and her awesome poetry!
