At the end of the line.

Only tumbleweed rides on these rails now.
Only clouds' shadows pass along this way.
On the track I wait
and watch the weather
having arrived at my own journey's end.

You conjure up great atmosphere and feeling in this brief and finely-fashioned piece. Well done.

This conjured up a feast of feelings

I would like to read about the destination you bought your train ticket for all that time ago. Does it live up to the description in the travel guide? Personally I feel it would be a shame for you not to get back on the train for a few more stops and write some more great poetry.

Great poem. While I sometimes feel I'm at the journey's end, I know I still have some way to go before my rest.

    Good luck in the contest.
