What if you were still here?
I wouldn't have been hurt so badly,
this knife stabbed in my heart.
What if you never left me alone?
I would never have felt as empty as I do now,
a hollow hole in my heart where you use to be.
What if you hadn't said "I love you" with such passion?
I would not have been lied to so easily,
nor would I have been so naive.
What if you had not cheated on me?
I wouldn't been so hurt, so lost and alone,
in the never ending darkness of your lies.
What if you never even loved me?
I would never had the chance to feel so much,
hate, love, emptiness's, fulfilment.
Words of wisdom passed down to me from my mom "It's better to have loved and left than to have never loved at all"

That is wise and true. It's better to have loved and left then never to have loved at all. This is a good poem but it doesn't have an honorable mention trophy on it. Only those poems can be enter into this contest. I'm sorry I'm going to have to remove it. It still really good though and maybe I have another contest where you can enter it.
