It's a Process (revision #2)

Feet begin to bounce along the sidewalk
under thousands of moonlight observers.
Passing across cement tablets that form
ocean waves at the shore, blood stained
from a falling knee and a crashing elbow.

Skin has already begun to blister
after only the first turn; first mile.
The body fails itself to cool
as cream pusses out of its pores,
replacing the normal coolant.

Racing along the airstrip
lights, familiar females
whistle from passing cars
but the ear buds whistle
much sweeter tunes.

Paper lungs squeezed,
straining to reform on the
fourth and final turn.
Legs want to buckle,
pushing to the finish.

Reclining on the hill,
the dew fuses with
sweat, creating
a smoke stack
out of the shirt.

Steam billows
towards the sky.
Thousands of
smiles are felt;
can’t be seen.

i love the line, "as cream pusses out of its pores"
very creative. also "familiar females whistle from passing cars but the ear buds whistle much sweeter tunes" made me giggle. i love it because it makes the scene seem perfect (without any damn girls around hehe)
