My Nature, My Curse

Everyday I wake,
And start the day the same,
With hope for all the world,
To end the needless pain.

I then go outside,
And see in everyone,
The goodness in them all,
Last nights cynasism gone.

The day starts so well,
But can only get worse,
Expectations run high,
This is my one true curse.

But once in a while,
The best is revealed,
And a glimmer of hope,
Unlocks what is sealed.

This is my saviour,
What keeps me alive,
Through these cynical nights,
Until the next sunrise.

Expecting the best,
Is just who I am,
But seeing the worst,
Is why I am damned.

But this will not change me,
No matter how bad,
I will forgive you again,
How naive is this lad.

sometimes it is the difficult struggles that lead us to the joys of otherwise brief and unnoticeable happier moments but we only really know ourselves what shoes we walk in and judgement is our own no one else's good write

thanks for your entry and good luck in the contest

This is a great piece filled with sadness in ones self. It abhors the need to awake from something that grips, but you can't seem to shake it from you. It reminds me of when you have been betrayed and the heart of you knows that you must forgive, but the flesh of you can't seem to let go and it wrecks you inside when you hold on to the pain and anger. The expression of this kind of thing is well written here.

Thanx meme for the comment, I'm glad that someone can understand just a little of what I am. Annoying thing about this poem is it took the contest to inspire me to see it in myself, i've been struggling like mad lately to be able to write anything despite things happening.
