Sing A Song Of Sixpence
Sing a song of sixpence, a pocket full of rye,
Four and twenty blackbirds baked in a pie.
When the pie was opened the birds began to sing -
Oh, wasn't that a dainty dish to set before the King?
Alas, the King thought otherwise -
"Go tell the cook" he said
"Next time he serves me blackbird pie
To make damn sure they're dead!"
Old Mother Hubbard
Old Mother Hubbard
She went to the cupboard
To fetch the poor doggie a bone.
When she got there
The cupboard was bare
And so the poor doggie had none.
Old Mother Hubbard
Sat watching the cupboard
To see would a mouse come in view
But there wasn't a mouse
Anywhere in the house
So her poor pussie went hungry too.
Old Mother Hubbard
Was later discovered
Laid out on her kitchen floor dead
But with bits of her gone
And there, looking on,
Her doggie and pussie well fed.
Hey Diddle Diddle
Hey diddle diddle the cat and the fiddle
The cow jumped over the moon,
The little dog laughed to see such fun
And the dish ran away with the spoon.
Hey diddle diddle the cat said this riddle
That made the little dog frown -
"What can't come down the chimney up
But can go up it down?"
(the answer's 'an umbrella')
