Did you childlike
Stumble through
Blyton's Enchanted Forest
Or spend your time with
Noddy, golly gosh
Step through the wardrobe
With Edmund and Lucy
To meet Caspian and friends
Maybe tumble down
A rabbit hole with Alice
On a visit to Wonderland
Visit Mars with Edgar Rice Burroughs
Or was Tarzan more your thing
And in the Hundred Acre wood
With Christopher Robin and friends
Where Owl, Eyore, and Tigger were found
W. E. Johns had Biggles
Flying Europe all around
Jules Verne had us journey
10000 leagues under the sea
And round the world in 80 days
While Welles he built a time machine
Peter Pan Wendy and Tinkerbelle
Flew NeverNever Land
We travelled oh so comfortably
Through all those worlds of imagination
Wit absolute and utter fascination
They lead us on to greater things
Our bookshelves filled to overflowing
By all they know and many a flight of fancy
Thank God it survives
The humble page so full
What a scene
The words create
That keeps us coming back for more
Of the literary ability
That opens a new door
