If I Was American I Would Vote For…But I Am A Canadian, eh!

~by Gregg Rowe ~

I would not vote

McCain

seeing that name in office

for four years

would bring back memories

every day when the

United States government banned the

name french fries

over some political catastrophe

of their imagination with Québec

I don't eat McCain fries anymore

...even the twisted ones

I would not vote for

Hillary...even though she

graced her husband of his

infidelity (ies)

she could change my mind

if she said she would find a

thirty-year-old studhunk and give

him a blow job in the

Oval Office

and then tell the nation

"I did not swallow...!"

I would vote for

the afro american who

is having a religious meltdown right now

and I believe that as President

it is something that he would lead

the United States

as a nation to experience

Hmm... interesting. I guess I agree with all but the Obama part. Nicely written though. I can't let my opinion sway the quality of the write.

We here in Canada have our troubles too when it comes to elections and the way they are run and the way the candidates put each other down and throw dirt at each other. Each election we go through this. Liked the way you see the american election this time. Quite the unusual situation in this one - will be interesting to see what the results are when all is over with. Makes interesting reading... humorous as well.

Gregg, very humorous, and I especially liked your take on old Hillary! Made me want to relive old memories of NOT swallowing. Great parody on our election. I personally don't care for any of them. Think I will do a write-in, come election time. Seems everyone here cares, but no one likes the choices. What a f^)*(*_() mess! Always love your writing.

I enjoyed your write. Our land is a mess. There is not one of the three that I can percive that are worth a damn. I refuse to vote for the human refuse that is being foisted upon upon us. May be I should visit Canada for a while.

      To quote another Canadian:

This was a refreshing light-hearted read for me...I wish everybody would just chill and realize we are so far in the crapper now there is NO way out!

Might as well laugh as cry people...does the same amount of good..."she says as she pays $4.00 a gallon for reg. gas!!!"LMFAO!!!

    Blessings to you!

  • Ah, if only more Americans could think like that. I absolutely agree. Honestly, I try to respect freedom of religion, but I think a religious meltdown as you've described would be the best thing to happen to this nation. And you've reminded me that I still need to send in my voter registration form...I missed the primaries, but I will NOT miss November!

Ok, the actual poem...terrific wording, plenty of innocence and wasn't driven by any warped beliefs. You seemed like you gave the candidates a good, fair chance, and one man simply aligned with your beliefs and values more than the others. That's exactly how people should choose the President. Not be like OMGZZ I AM VOTING 4 HILLARY CUZ SHE HAS A VAGINA!!!!11!!1!!one...you know. :-D Nice job.

honestly, i dont know that much about politics, let alone american politics, but this is a funny piece of writing.
  • Haha, this put a smile on my face this morning! I'm registered as Republican as well..but I'm confused with all this media attention about the presidental race! It's enough to drive one mad....

Thanks for putting such humor, to lighten things up a touch.

I find your views of our political system interesting and I enjoyed the humor with which you used. I'm a registered Republican, so I needn't comment on who I would vote for I just watch some of the hot air on CNN and shake my head. Every time Billary speaks, she seems to be making a political announcement, Obamamama seems to have a sense of humor, he can be interesting at times, but I think he's a lil green in the political arena...Anyway, good read!

  • It is always interesting to see how others view our politics. I am familiar with the Canadian love of Obama from listening to CJAD. However, as electrifying a speaker as he may be, he is a neophyte. Great poem. Well contstructed.
