I sit in my corner of the outdoors,
Basking in my sloth
After a long day of tick-ticks
And paranoid parents.
I chomp away at the pieces of chicken,
Doused to the core with barbeque sauce,
and swish it down for digestion with a bit of orange juice.
I have no worries.
Just relaxation.
I peer across the street,
And see two rabbits playing.
They jump and run like long-eared kittens;
They might as well be laughing like children on a playground.
Because the rabbits can play freely with no worries,
I, too, feel safe.
I am not, however, safe from the mosquitoes.
So I retreat into the cold, confined space of my apartment
And continue to bask in my sloth.
Author notes
This is a description of my surroundings as I sat outside, eating my dinner.
It isn't much, but I was aiming for simplicity...

You indeed achieved simplicity in this, I liked it. I would love to see more poems such as this one. Wonderful imagery, relaxing.
Keep it up.
