i'm here to tell you a story
of the first brutal crime committed in the 20th century
discrimination was boiling back then
how to eliminate Armenians, turks greatly planned
letters were sent
some agreed to help
given orders to take action
they started the eradication of an entire nation
head of families were first taken away
women and children left defenseless, couldn't stand in soldiers' way
driven out of their homes to walk the desert
witnessing murder, they couldn't even rely on the hazard
some men were imprisoned
others, castrated
most though were simply killed
now women were trembling afraid
following orders, doing whatever it takes
to have bread touch the lips of their children
innocence was bought with the power of a weapon
little boys were not allowed to be alive
disguised is how they survived
everything was acceptable, soldiers encouraging each other to rape
the flame of a torch touched the flesh of women who tried to escape
it was a message for the kids to see
that life was not theirs, it was that of the enemy
God knows how they pulled through
what's happened, dollars cannot undo
but the blood spilled is of value
we want what's ours
we are late, but now is the hour
our feet will, once again, on our ground stand
our hands will soon touch the pureness of our land
give history back its voice
and let an apology be by choice
rather than by cornering and by force
give our victims their wings back
their blood's forever engraved on our flag
24th of April is a date, hiding years, sorrow and blue
1.5 million is far more than a few
now, show us respect where respect is due!

simply i donno if saying great is right for such a sad event that nearly blemished and eradicated our race. but nonetheless awesome write -

thanks bro.
i was inspired to write this by that italian movie.. it was about the genocide.. i get angry when it comes to things like this.. even though i'm not totally into the armenian things from the music and the dances and the books and everything, i still have the pride in me, i am an armenian with soul.. i can write about this many many times, i'll never have nothing to say about it..
