~ My Rain..


The flowers that bloomed on that rainbow night
The memories still linger inside my shattered mind
Every step I take, into this brand new life
Flood me with memories of everything I've left behind..

The stars twinkle in the sky, above my lonely world
And the rain pours down on me like forgotten tears
I hear it in the rain, in every drop that falls down
Each drop is a cry, recalling those long lost years..

I follow no footsteps; I have an odyssey of my own
Nobody understands me, eyes that behold a scene so new
I hold on to my own endless hope, which keeps me sane
And I have my dreams to keep me going through this blue..

But now as I leave this door, taking one last glance
The emptiness inside fills my heart with screaming pain
Goodbye then to the life that once belonged to me
I step out, I'm ready to take off in this endless rain..

    Again, another poem of yours with great imagery. This is a very powerful write. I am really glad I stopped by your page! I am having so much fun reading your poem. Not one is boring, well, from the ones that I have read so far!

    (Still?) Lonely

    Quite a contrast to the lady who told me she was reticent about going into the same contest with me three years ago!
    Did you ever hear Armando Manzanero, who wrote it, sing "Yesterday I heard the Rain"? It is very beautiful in English as well.
    Vikki Carr does a nice rendition of it too!
    Nice poem. I will make every effort to come back and see a few of your things!
