Have you ever made a spider out of oak tree moss indeed,
I have and I have made spiders out of them for Halloween.
Just buy pipe cleaner wires and some wiggly eyes,
and oh my goodness they can cause a fright .
Even make them from half a styrofoam ball,
Make them any color you like its your spider after all.
stick the pipe cleaner wires in and roll then on their side,
Then stick the wires in for the legs and add some eyes.
Want to make an octopus then get yourself some yarn 2 skeins is enough,
Then take a tennis ball or a rolled up pair of socks.
Cut the yarn folded over however long you want the legs to be,
Then at the fold pull it over the ball and join underneath.
Once the ball is covered then lay on the bed ,
and separate the long pieces of yarn all around away from its head.
Now take the yarn in sections of three and braid to the end,
you should have nine legs when you come to the end.,
Place some eyes upon it and maybe a bow,
and it will be the cutest octopus you know.
Have you ever made a musical instrument ,
from a piece of paper and a comb.
Just lay a piece of paper behind it and blow,
Its quite fun to do but tickles your lips though.
Have you ever made paper mechey,
where you air up a balloon and glue flour paste paper on it in such a way.
Cover it good then let it dry,
and then poke a hole in the balloon gently that's right.
Now cut an opening on the side and glue a plate beneath ,
and you have a giant egg to decorate indeed.
Now this is a special one I had so much fun with beauty abound,
you take a piece of charcoal wood you find out on the ground .
Place it in a pan half filled with water is the first thing you do,
then pour a whole box of salt on top of the wood and food colors to.
You watch it over several days,
and the most beautiful castle will form with such a display.
you see the charcoal soaks up the water which in turn swells the salt making peaks,
and with the food colorings placed in spots all over its pretty neat.

These sound like such fun to do for the children and with the children. Almost makes me wish mine were all youngsers again... Almost

This is a good piece to keep handy for when little children are around and we need something to entertain them

Oh...I love the baloon and the paper mache' that is the most fun ever!!! You can make a Piniata like that too! Great fun! ***Pam***

Great ideas here, some indeed I have not thought of. But try with your paper mache egg cutting it in half (saw or electric knife is best) then you have a base to work out two masks by cutting eye and mouth slits. My children used to love Power Rangers masks and this form was great! You could even forget the mask and make giant ladybirds/bugs or beetles etc. Lots of cheap entertainment there! Keep those mischeivous fingers busy!!

Oh wow! I'd forgotten about playing my comb with the paper over it. I had hours of fun with it. Thanks for bringing back this great memory and giving me some new ideals.
