The Sound of Hoofs

Large drops of rain fell
Rapidly descending down.
In the distance I heard a yell
Beyond the boundary of the town.

A flash of light, a thunderous boom,
Then all went silent and dark.
The air filled with a strange perfume.
A hound broke the eerie quiet with his bark.

I heard the sound of horses hoofs
Galloping upon the cobble stones.
Dark clouds fell upon the roofs.
From a window I heard passion moans.

Lighting cut the darkness for an instant.
A figure of a woman shown in the window sill.
The hoofs stopped off in the distant.
The wind hollowed sending a chill.

Another burst of light and the figure fell.
The hoofs rushed again toward the scene.
A voiced cried into the night, "Michelle!"
All around me nothing could be seen.

A horse neighed loudly in fright.
The sound of swords clashed.
A cry, a tumble, a flash of light,
The clang of armor crashed.

The rain ceased; a quiet hush.
A hound broke the peace with his bark.
Many hoofs galloped away in a rush.
A full moon sent light into the dark.

The hellish storm had passed away.
Nothing, nobody lay around me
Except a strange mist of gray.
No sound except horses galloping free.

I loved the way you used the sounds of horse's hoofs as a ghost...I would of never thought of that idea but you have and it is excellent...
The rhyme, flow, style and meter are perfect...
