I sleep in your shadow a cold lonely place,
your body lends heat, but denies an embrace.
Aloof behind your self-centred wall,
you fail to hear my soft tears fall.
Alone in the darkness where once I was Queen,
I’m lost in a shadow too deep to be seen,
no way to mend the illogical plight,
when you fail to hear the tears in the night.
I burn as the touch of our flesh lights a spark,
coming together by chance in the dark,
oh light up that darkness with quivering pain,
with the love I’ve waited so long to reclaim.
Trembling and breathless I long for your sighs
and wet lips kissing the tears from my eyes.
Look back I am crying; I need you to stay,
But you couldn’t be closer or farther away.

Beautiful write and rhyme. Sad a longing to have someone there. Your poem has beauty in the flow of it.

Great to see you back in the prizes after a long break

Delightful poem and a pleasure to reward it, very good flow and only one slight slant (pain/reclaim) for use to raise an eyebrow at.
Great entry and we look forward to reading your entries in the later rounds
All the best and thanks for entering

Lovely
As you desire the life of a bride
You must lie down to bed on his side
As you have lost the power of speech
You must find ways through which you may teach
If this fails to get his attention
Other thoughts too risque to mention
Causing an edit akin to hare

This flows so smoothly and the rhyme sings with your thoughts. Such a longing desire you have penned with that streak of sensuality. Your two last lines are powerful and sum up the emotions in your poem...alby

You could have not taken the words right out of my mouth!
