I knew it all along,
-yet I decided to bake the cake.
So to speak of course, for,
I was indubitably bored and,
lacking the imagination to preoccupy my hands with something useful,
I snatched a tiny truffle from,
your yellow window pane.
I knew I shouldn't have ate that last truffle,
and I know I should say eaten,
but do you truly care about my flaws,
now that my nose is sweetened?
I should say my heart, right?
You always catch my faults,
and yet you never saw the missing truffle 'till it was gone,
and by then it was too late to speak.
For words become weary without use,
and noses become sour without kisses.
