Goodnight, little darling, your mother is near -
a peapod she's laid by your ear.
At night when the fairies slip in to whisper -
the peapod will fain disappear.
It's a token she's leaving to let wee folk know
they're welcome to peek but not stay.
For they're dying to visit your cradle and peer
at your sweet-pea like face, people say.
But they must go their own way with something else dear
so they don't draw too terribly near
and a peapod transports them away, never fear,
like a sleigh far from little one's ear.

Pretty, peaceful piece (just noticed the alliteration there.) I really liked this one.
