golden petals
kissed by the morning sun,
flowing flutters of hummingbirds
alight on their auriferous aura,
imbibing nectarous delight
as the wind gently sighs
dancing with the
poppies
meadow
emerald grass
that blankets Mother Earth
with the awakening of spring,
resounding to the amethyst larkspur,
chorused by the quail and her chicks
as they stroll through the blades
waving in the
meadow
foothills
custodians
of the vernal vision
canvassed beneath them, tapestry
of majestic colors, interwoven
streams from melting masses of snow
nourish the revived land
underneath the
foothills

I have been gone 8 years from L.A., and hope to return when I retire in 8 more years. It is a long time away from home, and it is a wonderful city to live in.
Does the air ring with magic? Yes, it does. From the tinsel of Hollywood to the golden poppies that bloom on the foothills, in the air you breath scented with multiple languages and music. From the smiles on faces tanned with desert sun, and the embrace of all my family who live there. My house is still there, and you open the front door and see a vista like this in the springtime. There is nowhere else as beautiful for me.
