Gone are the baby dolls and bedtime stories
Pony rides and petting zoos thrill no more
Come now to Ipods dances, trips to the fashion store,
Aspire to be prom queen, have an athletic dream, and other faded glories.
Soon there will be cute boys to date and cruel ones to hate.
Your childhood youth is fading fast.
The fun and exhilaration never lasts.
Adulthood is around the corner, waiting at the gate.
Live young and have fun while you still can!
Change is coming sooner than you know.
Don't let life weigh you down with demands,
Yet do not indulge yourself and forsake your soul.
Life can be exciting and amusing while remaining pure.
Morality does not overrule or overtake pleasures.
So live your life abundantly yet not up to peer conformity.
Your faith and love are your only lasting treasures.

Wow didn't you speak the truth in your well written poem. This is so excellent and the harsh realities of life as we grow into adult hood it is very painful sometimes. Faith and love are our only lasting treasures and some friendships that linger for years....
I would love to return to my youth and now know what I didn't know back then...but then I would wonder if I would change anything if I got to go back in time....
