Wet benches where I wait for you
I wipe the dampened seat.
Once seated, I then turn around
listening for the happy sound
of your splashing feet.
We kiss, we laugh and we embrace
I wipe the wetness from your face
You've brought a bag of breadcrumbs
some popcorn in there too.
We'll sit and talk and feed the birds
the way we always do.
The rain is quite refreshing
falling softly from the sky.
It does not deter the birds
they're patient standing by.
The birds are fed, they wander off
it's time for us to go.
The benches looking lonely now
you walk away so slow.
Rain drips from your umbrella
I watch you walk away
raindrops filling up my eyes
we'll meet another day.

Your rhme with different flow.
Making combinations whisper
make me weak, to really flow
Beauty, You do impart, aglow
Accepting me to the group:
Great full I can float

I love the visual images of this piece, it brings to mind a day when everything goes well, when all is right with the world, even the rain. Good luck in the contest.

Sea gulls always around, no matter what! Too many of them in our community too. Liked the flow of these lines, the sentiments expressed and the interpretation of this picture you have written here. Nice to meet, rain or not!

This has the sweet forbidden air of the illicit yet gentle love affair. A charming piece of nostalgia, beguilingly narrated.
