She signs to you,
"H-U-N W-E N-E-E-D T-O T-A-L-K"
You just stare at her,
as she walks to your side.
She signs your name,
and you follow her,
out of the room,
and outside the building.
You ask her what is wrong,
and she gives you the look.
You know this is important,
and you are questioning,
everything.
She doesn't talk,
but looks towards the wall.
You grab her by the waist,
and she slaps your arm.
You ask her to talk,
say it is important,
and all she can do,
is wipe the tears from her eyes.
You take her hands,
And hold them tight.
You look only in her eyes,
and see the fear.
You sit down on the ground,
and she sits by you.
You sign to her.
"W-H-A-T I-S G-O-I-N-G O-N?"
The tears come free,
and she takes her hands,
and does the signs for,
"I was raped. I am pregnant."
You grab her hand,
and pull her in tight,
because you now know,
that your best friend
is having a baby.

oh ...wow...theres nothing i wud change..this poem is awesome....so sad... real..
she wasnt strong enuff to fight him off..and the fact that she uses sign language suggests that she is mute..she was raped and cudnt scream...and to me its symbolic of occasions in life when u are helpless... he was sum1 she thought she could trust - Life can be such a bitch...wats really fucked up , is this stuff really happens...

This was a fine write! It had me from the start & I was surprised that you had the young woman signing. A really good story poem here with suspense, love & closeness quite evident. Great choice of words & content, very visual! This was sad & poignant & I'm glad to have found a piece of yours that wasn't about cutting or other dark things of that sort! This was written with depth & skill. All the best in the contest. Sorry to read that you destroy Bibles. I His Word & have it all over my home, many translations, a Power Bible on my PC, a DVD Bible, Bible on Cassette, & life in Him is my life! I'm surprised you found your way to me to read any of my writing! Please value your life's blood & keep it inside your body where it belongs. You are an individual [I shop at Goodwill when I can also & love it! ] & if you channel all that creative energy into writing...well...who knows what'll come out of it?
