The Angel And Turbine

The radiant sun scorched to the seething scents of fallen angels.
The moon casts its only reflecting gaze from a hollowed imploded star.
Our world reduced to shambles, its center melting beneath the grass
revealing a darker, more sinister existence, lying just a few miles under our feet.

The messenger of God, An Angel, came from the heavens high above
flying downwards on his crooked wings and foretold the future.
He’s apathetic smile digging deep within our souls implanting worry and doubt.
His creased lips never twitched when he talked, and his apathy only produced fear.
So much time has passed since then, I still, sometimes, wished it never happened.

As he gently grazed his feet upon the cold dark concrete and decaying grass,
He looked up at the sky watching the clouds spinning like turbines.
The natural blades spun in rapid succession to the beating failure of Divine creativity.
Faster and faster they picked up speeds causing a tempest this little planet never knew.
Earthquakes crack the ground splitting the clay-like face of Mother Nature.
Her forehead of Beijing crinkled and cracked her smooth complexion into disaster.
Her high cheekbones of Australia splintered beneath the tectonic distress, while
her cranial lobes split like a schizophrenic.

The Tempest lasted only seconds, only minutes, maybe even an hour or more.
No one really knew they only wished for the end and never calculated a time.
The angel, our messenger of God, gave us the message that killed millions if not more.
His expression locked in the dull slow twitches of swallowing saliva and inhaling air.
His feet firmly planted on the ground, he opened up his wings and let out a smile.
This smile was a beacon of light shining towards the crowds.
His smile upturned in a fleshy grin, a cynical smile, an intimidating gaze.
His teeth, whiter than the moon reflecting the imploded star, were jagged to a point.
His Wings are crystal white with angelic majesty.
His smile, demonically cruel and cynical, lies attached to his muscles
As he flies up towards the turbine to complete the second stage of a Newer World,
the world inhales deeply wondering if this will be the last breath any human will take.
