We made love in the penthouse,
twenty stories high,
on Nirvana Island,
surrounded by the sky -


on the captain's balcony,

u
n
d
e
r

a new moon,
caressed by a sea breeze,
and a cool calypso tune -


that came from a mountain,
not so far away,
that used to be volcanic,
in it's younger day.


Now the mountain's dormant,
unlike the likes of us,
who'll take a tour tomorrow,
on a yellow bus -


with all the captain's wives,
and some very friendly blokes,
who know the meaning of,
Different strokes for different folks.


When we wake up in the morning,
wrapped in each other arms,
we'd see the Island Sun,
being lifted by three palms -


an arms length from our bed,
like a scarlet coconut,
that we'd drink with lime,
in an ancient shaman's hut -


when we got to the volcano,
not so very far away,
that was HOTTER than my baby,
back in it's in younger day.

    lol great author notes Earl Twenty stories or twenty six poems? who's counting? They are all good and part and parcel of an epic journey through life. One book or many, they roll out smoothly with love, peace and humour,so what more could any one ask for. The poem's not bad either lol

    The latter is correct...but then again I'm not very good when it comes to numbers. LOL!!! I had to check curiosity and all DAMN! now to your poem SIGH! left a beautiful feeling and lovely images in my mind..to be consumed by the one you love..surrounded by the beauty of nature..I'm not sighing again...damn I am SIGH!...BLISS! A beautiful poem to wake up to.
