You grace the skies with fluttering beauty
tracing softest breeze with filigreed wings,
across peaceful valleys and turquoise seas
free you are, to my soul peace do you bring.
As night closes in comes the search for rest
trees beckon you down with their swaying leaves,
pausing in darkness, this end of days quest
blessed do I feel watching upon this eve.
With the morning dew comes the need to feed
eyes skimming the ground with perfect vision,
spotting a wee worm you've found what you need
swift is your descent with marked precision.
When I forget God's grace I scan the sky
and I watch your elegance, then I know why.
