The Resonating Sound

My world sung to in a forgotten dream
Where once elves played in the sunlight
And the stars were nought but a cloak of darkness
That covered the Earth at night
I remembered a far off distant time
Where men lived as men should and women were loved
When the roses bloomed in summertime
In fields of red and gold
As my mind drifted in a wandering memory
To the resonating sound of Cathedral bells
Their music stirring the atmosphere
Of Englands green and pleasant land
Singing, calling, vibrations of the cosmic
Through metal and hammer they awaken the soul
Unknown to the people in the villages below
And I looked up into its towers high
The Cathedral majestic and beautiful
And I understood.
