Towards pretty flowers, growing trees,
Blades of grass and so on
Living free and healthy
As human beings are
Show your love for them
By touching them gently.
Giving a soft, gentle stroke
On its base with your hand.
When you're walking through the park
And spot a dandelion,
Touch it gently.
When you come upon a daffodil
Outside your house
Or some other nice place
Touch it gently.
The first tree you see,
The first shining leaf,
The first rose of spring,
Milkweed of autumn,
The first lilac, chrysanthemum,
Crochus or anything,
Offer your soul
By not hurting it
But giving a stroke.
It not only pleases nature
But also yourself.
With the loving warmth of your hand
Be the best you can be.
Touch life gently.
Author notes
To children everywhere; you know you have a tender side.
Do your best to show it; especially towards living things, including yourself.
