Dawn Kiss

The dawn comes without
break or bright.
It dances on a gentle rain,
tiny sparkles separate it from the night.

Leaves turn up to drink
as they soften their fall.
The dew healing them from
their scorched August thrall.

No sound and fury.
No thunder or jagged light.
Only a breeze whispering goodbye
as it kisses away the night.

A beautiful transition from the visual through physical to the spiritual vision of dawn. Very well-composed, particularly the last stanza!

    gentle

nice and gentle--the way dawn does show up. a pleasant read.

although--the word "thrall" seems slightly out of place. almost too big for the poem.

    just a thought
