What Pleases You ?

Missing image
What pleases you?
A sudden smile?
A whisper only meant for you?
A cool night after a hot summer day?
A long, loving glance directed your way,
Does the memory that is shared
vary in the promise in an echo?
Or does it it disappear
like the laughter of a faerie?
Some reveal that certain suddenness
found in passion,
Breathless in origin,
I myself...
look for the experience
of the first revelation
of love,
Can you look in my eyes
and see what I see?
Let us reach into our souls
and find what we both need

I love how subtle the questions were asked whilst letting the persona show his/her hopes and all
To most of the question, we might say yes and I'm looking for this experience as well
All in all, lovely piece you got here
  • thanks for conjuring some good images through simple questions at the beginning. those please me at least, a good shift as well from more innocent images to more passionate, intense ones. love... such a wondrous thing. thanks for sharing this. best wishes

Interesting and definitely thought provoking. I certainly know what/who pleases me but I liked the way you used a questioning technique to capture the reader's imagination and prompt a response. Interesting use of examples that didn't quite fall into cliche overall. Thanks for sharing such an intruging write - I must learn how to spell that word!
    Cheers.

    Very nice!

I enjoyed this inquiry as to what pleases the person you're talking to. I'm sure the right person would love being asked these particular questions. I also liked the way you ended this poem, letting the other person know what you look for when you're with a potential lover.
