a little cracked around the edges but i can still see myself smile
i had to tape the back to keep it from splitting the world in two
every morning i would wake up see how much i'd grown that night
and my reflection tells me maybe i just need a little less light to be like you
but you tell me "it's okay, it's all going to turn out all right
sleep safe, you'll find yourself soon but patience is a virtue too
i know you're eager to grow up and get out
but remember all the times you loved the simple things in life"
i'll always be your baby but it's time to let me go
the world goes on with or without your love you know
and if i need you, just look at me in the mirror and you're there
detatched from reality but safe in your heart forever
