Like some distant storm
wholly surprised, you loved me.
A twister tangling hearts.
Off some foreign beach,
lovers collapse seawalls.
Our ship still afloat.
In some future time
we are one, watch for the storm.
Because just like the rain,
we’ll be there.

I love the comparison and how they fit so well together. Its like so obvious but couldn't be seen until you pointed it out in the poem. Great imagery, torrid and full of passion.
