To be completely alone??
To live your life in other’s shadows
Cold down to the very bone
Do you know what it feels like??
To be completely imperfect??
Not a whisper said about you is good
And you act like it has no affect
Do you know what it feels like??
To not be wanted by anyone??
Known as cold and heartless
Never completed, never done
Do you know what it feels like??
To stand by yourself in a crowded room??
Screaming your lungs out, never heard
Living inside eternal gloom
Like walking in a living nightmare
Yet it hurts as much as you are real
Everyone assumes you hate the world
Yet in reality you can feel
It’s not like when a kid says “I hate you”
Or when a parent says “You’re pretty”
No, this is more, more than a movie
And no, you don’t want pity
You want the world to see you
Know that you’re alive
Want to find hope and laughter
And for your love to thrive
Not the same as standing alone
With no one there beside you
No, this is when you are alone
With people in the room too
So do you know what it feels like??
To be alone, imperfect and screaming
No one to notice you’re falling apart
Happiness is when you’re dreaming
Do I know what it’s like??
To be alone, myself and loud??
No one has noticed I’ve fallen apart
Though I’m standing in the biggest crowd
